When contemporary art gallery Art First opened two brand new spaces in Fitzrovia, the time was right to turn up the volume. There are eight established artist shows per annum in the gallery, synchronised with new artists shows in the project space. Invitations to private views are a tangible and important means to communicate the gallery identity and the artists who show there. We designed two distinctive, related private view invitation schemes. For gallery invitations, eight ‘spaces’ were designated on the cover, each one for the name of an artist. Work is shown on the inside spread and the exhibition title and details appear on the back cover. The project space invitation is a single square sheet with an representative image on one side and exhibition details on the back. Font and typographic design are used consistently across both schemes. The exhibition title is in red for the gallery show and in fluorescent red for the project space.
